The number of new confirmed cases exceeded 2,000 for the first time today (11th) as the spread of Corona 19 in Korea is getting stronger.

It has been over 1 year and 6 months since the first COVID-19 patient was reported in Korea on January 20 last year, or exactly 569 days (based on the announcement date).

The Central Quarantine Countermeasures Headquarters (Bangdaebon) announced that as of 00:00 today, the number of new confirmed cases increased by 2,223, to a cumulative total of 216,206.

The number of people increased by 683 from yesterday (1,540 people), and it went directly to the 2,200 level, exceeding the 2,000 level.

It was 328 more than the previous high of 1,895 on the 28th of last month, breaking the record again in two weeks.

The route of infection of the new confirmed cases is 2,145 locally and 78 from overseas.

The number of local confirmed cases remained at 1,400 for two days from the 8th to the 9th, which was the beginning of the week, but today it surged to the 2,000 level.

Corona 19 is spreading in all directions, breaking records not only in the metropolitan area but also in non-metropolitan areas.

The 4th pandemic, which started in earnest at the beginning of last month, is hardly subsiding despite the government's successive high-intensity quarantine measures, such as the 4th stage of 'social distancing' and the ban on private gatherings of more than three people.

The number of confirmed cases per day has been in the four digits for 36 days in a row since the 7th of last month (1,212 people).

From the 5th to today, if you look at the new confirmed cases in the last week, 1,775 → 1,704 → 1,823 → 1,729 → 1,492 → 1,540 → 2,223 by day. At least 1,400 people came out.
