The defenders of the Gerónimo alpaca have marched this Monday towards the residence in London of the British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, to ask him to prevent this animal from being euthanized.

Dozens of people marched between the Ministry of Agriculture and Downing Street

denouncing that the skin tests that have been done on the animal are not accurate

and that they have revealed that it suffers from bovine tuberculosis.

"Justice for Geronimo" or "New test, no death" could be read on the banners of the protesters outside Downing Street.

In addition, around 80,000 people have signed an online petition to prevent the sacrifice of this alpaca from New Zealand.

Its owner, Helen MacDonald, refused to comply with the order imposed by the government veterinarians, which has led Gerónimo to the pages of the newspapers.

MacDonald affirms that the two tests that were made to him returned false positives, reason why it requests a third test.

Although the Environment Minister George Eustice highlighted the high reliability of the tests carried out, he did not convince its owner, a breeder in Gloucestershire (south-west England), who accuses him of "lying" and of wanting to "kill a healthy animal".

In this controversy,

Boris Johnson's father, Stanley Johnson, has sided with the alpaca

, calling the sacrifice order "absurd".

And its owner does not give up: "She does not have it (bovine tuberculosis), and the sad thing is that they will not realize it until she is dead."
