In October of last year, a police officer in his 30s took his own life while suffering from the verbal abuse and hard work of his superior. After that, co-workers came forward and more than 5,000 police officers from all over the country submitted petitions to reveal the truth, and the deceased's death was recognized after nine months.

These are handwritten notes left by Inspector Kim Mo, who was the head of the strong team at the Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Police Station, during a meeting with his direct supervisor in June of last year.



The pressure and self-blame at work continued into the meeting a month later.



Inspector Kim was exhausted mentally and physically from overtime work of more than 100 hours a month on average, and had to receive treatment for insomnia.

The day after leaving this message, Inspector Kim committed suicide.



As a result of the inspection conducted at the request of the bereaved family, the harassment of the chief of the criminal division and the chief of homicide, who were superiors, was revealed.



He insulted Inspector Kim personally in front of his juniors and made him go to work and even run personal errands even though he knew he was on vacation.



The superiors were all suspended, but the efforts of their colleagues did not stop there.



To restore the deceased's honor, fellow police officers continued a one-man protest, and petitions from more than 5,400 police officers from all over the country flooded in.

Finally, the Ministry of Human Resources and Innovation has made a decision to leave the office nine months after Inspector Kim passed away.
