Vacationers in Gangwon-do are flocking to beaches that have not been officially opened because they are quiet instead of crowded beaches. We are concerned about quarantine as well as safety.

G1 Broadcasting reporter Kim Do-woon covered the scene.

Tents have been set up on the sandy beach since early hours, and it is full of vacationers enjoying the water.

However, this is a general beach that is not designated as a beach.

There are no safety lines to mark where the water is getting deeper, and there are no lifeguards.

[Beach users: I did not know (it was a beach), but we did not know.]

Other nearby beaches are also full of people because they are not officially open beaches.

There were no quarantine measures such as access control and temperature check, and most of them did not even wear masks.

There is a notice that prohibits swimming like this, but as you can see, water play is in full swing.

Because there is no compulsion.

Gangwon-do has the most 94 beaches in the country, but only 82 were opened this year in consideration of the Corona situation.

However, there are a lot of people and vacationers are flocking to avoid the formal beaches with strict quarantine rules.

[Beach visitor: I have no choice but to choose a place where there are no people, so it is called undesignated (beach) like this, or it is forbidden to enter at all… .]

Quarantine is also quarantine, but safety is more of a problem.

Two days ago, at an undesignated beach, two vacationers were swept away by waves and were rescued.

Even if you use a beach other than a designated beach, there is no legal basis for blocking access, but in the event of an accident, you are responsible and you will not be compensated.
