Lee Jung-hoon, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, Seoul, has been charged with two charges.

First, on the evening of the 15th of last month, in an apartment parking lot in Seoul, he and his wife were arguing loudly and grabbed both of her wrists and are being charged with assault.

In July of last year, he was also charged with assaulting his wife by knocking her down twice on a park bench in front of another apartment.

It is known that the wife submitted a diagnosis of two weeks of dislocation, which she received from a concussion at the time, to the investigative agency.

Mayor Lee acknowledged that he had an argument with his wife on the grounds of family affairs, but did not hit him.

The mayor's wife said yesterday (4th) that they conveyed to the police that they did not want to be punished.

However, for assault and personal injury, the case will be investigated regardless of the victim's will.

However, as the victim withdrew his intention to punish, the police said, "We are considering whether to send it to the prosecution as a general criminal case or as a family protection case."

In home protection cases, the offender is given counseling or community service instead of criminal punishment, leaving no criminal record.
