The medical staff in the photo that became a hot topic online while wearing a protective suit and playing hwatu with her grandmother turned out to be Lee Soo-ryun (29), a nurse at Sahmyook Seoul Hospital.

According to the Korean Nursing Association today (3rd), this photo was submitted to the 'Second Nurses Field Handwriting and Photography Exhibition' this year.

In the photo, a 93-year-old grandmother, Park, was admitted to the negative pressure bed of Sahmyook Seoul Hospital in Seoul on August 1st last year due to COVID-19.

The grandmother, who was a patient with moderate dementia, was infected at a nursing home and was transferred to this hospital, a hospital dedicated to Corona 19, and her energy was dropping due to a high fever.

About 10 nurses placed in the Corona 19 ward put mattresses on the floor of the ward because the grandmother was reluctant to bed and there was a risk of falling.

Unlike other hospitalized patients, when an elderly grandmother struggled in the isolation room, a nurse who had experience in rehabilitation treatment suggested a picture treatment for dementia patients.

It was a flower picture matching using a Hanafuda and coloring with colored pencils.

Yang So-yeon (33), a nurse, told the situation at the time, "It seemed too dangerous to be alone in the hospital room without a guardian for dementia, and I made play time from the second day after admission."

The 7th year nurse, Su-ryun Lee, who is the main character in the photo, said, "Isn't there only one person in the isolation ward to talk to with the patient?" "It was the result of thinking about whether there is a way to wake up the old woman who is constantly drowsy and calm her." said.

Although the grandmother fell asleep throughout the drawing, about 10 nurses, including Mr. Lee, took turns taking turns and did not stop the treatment.

It was a series of difficult tasks such as taking care of grandmother's meal and changing diapers, but they said that they did their best with the heart of doing what they could in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Nurses also arranged video calls between grandmothers and family members.

The family comforted the grandmother, saying, "I will be discharged soon, so please be in good spirits and healthy. I love you."

During the hospitalization period, the grandmother changed from moderate to mild COVID-19, and was discharged after a week of testing negative.

This nurse humbled herself, saying, "Caring for COVID-19 patients is something I am afraid of getting infected, but all I can do is take care of them with peace of mind, and take care of them so that they can be treated and discharged."
