Volunteer firefighters are attracting attention as they rescue an elementary school student from drowning.



According to the Jeju Fire Department, Kim Min-suk (46), a waterside safety officer belonging to the Affair Women's Volunteer Fire Department, patrolled the Woldaecheon area in Jeju City around 11:10 am on the 27th of last month.



Then, two elementary school students from the downstream of the river caught the eye of Agent Kim.



As Agent Kim approached the children, the children were not playing in the water, but were struggling in the water, asking for rescue.



Agent Kim immediately jumped into the water and rescued the children by pushing them to a nearby stone bridge.



Fortunately, they went home without any major health problems.



Agent Kim, with 5 years and 5 months of experience in the volunteer fire brigade, is usually an ordinary housewife.



Jeju Fire Chief Ko Jae-woo said, "The responsible action of Agent Kim Min-sook saved two precious lives."



Jeju Fire Department Volunteer Fire Brigade Waterfront Safety Officers consist of a total of 178 people from 6 volunteer fire brigade, and have been working at 4 beaches and 1 river in Jeju City since last month.
