A compensation decision was made for 256 cases of adverse reactions reported after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine in Korea.

According to the Corona 19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team (Promotion Team) today (29th), the Special Committee on Vaccination Damage Compensation held its 6th meeting on the 27th and made this decision.

The Damage Compensation Committee decided to compensate for 256 cases (46.5%) that received treatment for fever, headache, muscle pain, dizziness, allergic reaction, etc. out of a total of 551 cases of damage compensation application.

Cases with low temporal probability such as epigastric pain that appeared 9 days after vaccination or symptoms caused by underlying diseases (septicemia due to pneumonia, heart failure, cerebral infarction, etc.) were rejected.

The Damage Compensation Specialist Committee deliberated a total of 1,562 cases during the 1st to 6th meetings and decided to compensate 983 cases (62.9%).

579 cases excluded from the claim for compensation can be appealed only once.

If you have any objection to the disposition result, you can file an administrative appeal or file an administrative lawsuit within 90 days.

The promotion team is currently subsidizing medical expenses up to 10 million won per person even for severe patients with insufficient evidence of causality with the COVID-19 vaccine.

So far, 10 patients have been confirmed to be eligible for medical expenses, and medical expenses assistance has been completed for 4 of them.
