A pianist who worked abroad and won a prize in one of the world's leading competitions was arrested and handed over to trial on charges of fraud.



As a result of SBS coverage, the Suwon District Prosecutor's Office arrested and indicted Kim, a 33-year-old man who was accused of fraud on the 20th.



Kim, a pianist and businessman, is suspected of having won a contract worth about 1.5 trillion won in Malaysia, but the contract was canceled due to a lack of capital, but he hid this fact and stole 500 million won from several victims.



Kim, who worked as a pianist in the United States, etc., won several grand prizes in international competitions held in China, Japan, and the United Kingdom from the early 2000s to about 2017.



Kim fled overseas after receiving money into the accounts of people around him, using his experience and his close acquaintance with high-ranking officials in Malaysia, including those in the political and business circles.



As his whereabouts were unknown, Kim was asked twice and notified of nomination three times to secure new recruits.



In April, an Interpol Red Wanted was issued, mainly in which photos and fingerprints of felons were shared with law enforcement authorities around the world.



Gyeonggi Hwaseong West Police Station, which received complaints from the victims, confirmed the whereabouts of Mr. Kim, who fled to Indonesia after tracking, and arrested Mr. Kim on June 23rd.



The police found that Kim was handed over the investment by showing a certificate of forged bank balance worth 150 billion won.



The police were investigated for having a gala show to celebrate the signing of a contract with famous people who are close.



It is said that Kim's crime revenue, which the police found out, totaled 1.1 billion won.



The police handed over Kim, who was arrested on June 25, to the prosecution on the 5th of this month.
