Daejeon is the first city in the non-metropolitan metropolitan area to enter the 4th stage of social distancing.

Daejeon Mayor Heo Tae-jung announced that social distancing in the region related to COVID-19 will be raised to Level 4, the highest level from the 27th to August 8th.

Mayor Heo held a press conference on the afternoon of the 25th and announced that he had strengthened social distancing four times, but said it was not enough to keep up with the speed of the spread of the delta mutant virus, and announced the implementation of the fourth phase.

In Daejeon, on the 18th, the second-highest number of 83 confirmed cases in history, followed by 73 on the 19th and 20th respectively, 81 on the 21st, 67 on the 22nd, 68 on the 23rd, and 54 on the 24th.

The standard for applying step 4 is 4 people per 100,000 people, and when applied to Daejeon, it is 60 people.

Daejeon has the highest number of confirmed cases per population among 17 cities and provinces nationwide after Seoul.

If it is upgraded to Level 4, private gatherings after 6 pm will be limited to 2 people, and gatherings at all events are prohibited.

The business hours of nightlife facilities, restaurants, cafes, etc. are until 10 pm, which is the same as the current level 3, but clubs, emotional pubs, and hunting stalls are not open.

Academies, movie theaters, performance halls, and PC rooms that have no operating hours must also close at 10 p.m.

Restaurants and cafes can take-out and deliver from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. the next day.

All schools are shifting to distance learning, weddings and funerals are limited to fewer than 49 people, and religious facilities are limited to 19 people within 10% of their occupancy.

In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among students who use supplementary learning and sports facilities during summer vacation, it is essential that workers at private institutes and sports facilities undergo diagnostic tests.
