Game publisher Activision Blizzard is being sued in the United States.

Female employees of the company would be discriminated against and face sexual harassment,

Bloomberg Law

reported

Thursday.

Activision Blizzard is known for the games

Call of Duty

and

World of Warcraft

.

About 20 percent of the employees in the company are women.

The California Department of Fair Employment and Housing filed the lawsuit.

A two-year investigation would have shown that female employees are discriminated against.

For example, they receive less pay for the same work and they would be promoted less quickly.

Female employees are also sexually harassed, the agency says.

For example, men are said to joke about rape and have behaved inappropriately towards women after drinking alcohol during certain events.

Nude photos of an employee would also have been distributed.

According to the agency, the company has not taken any steps to combat discrimination and sexual harassment.

Activision Blizzard says it does not recognize itself in this.

“There is no place in our company or industry for sexual misconduct or harassment of any kind. In cases related to misconduct, action has been taken to address the issue,” the company said.
