At 10:15 am today, the 3rd division of the Supreme Court will open an appeals trial against Gyeongnam Governor Kim Kyung-soo, who was handed over to trial on charges of manipulating public opinion using comments.

The final decision of the Supreme Court will be made eight months after Governor Kim was sentenced to two years in prison in November last year.

Governor Kim is being tried on charges of manipulating public opinion with the automation program 'King Crab' in order to win the election of President Moon Jae-in, who has been the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party since November 2016, in collusion with the Kim Dong-won clan, who is called the Drooking.

In addition, he is also accused of violating the Public Official Election Act, which decided to continue commenting until the 2017 local election, and in return offered Kim the post of consul general in Sendai, Japan.

Previously, the first trial judged Kim guilty of all charges, sentenced him to two years in prison for manipulating comments, and arrested Governor Kim in court.

He was also sentenced to 10 months in prison and 2 years of probation for violating the Public Official Election Act.

However, the second trial court found him not guilty of violating the Public Official Election Act and only found him guilty of manipulating comments and sentenced him to two years in prison, but did not arrest Governor Kim, who was released on bail.

The key is whether the Supreme Court will decide what to say about whether Governor Kim saw an actual king crab in action, which he found guilty of both earlier trials.

If the Supreme Court maintains the judgment of the second trial on the issue, Governor Kim loses his position as governor and is imprisoned again in a detention center.
