Yesterday (18th) evening, so-called 'dry lightning' was witnessed in some areas of Seoul and Gyeonggi-do, without rain and thunder.
There were reports of repeated lightning strikes for more than an hour depending on the region.
The Korea Meteorological Administration explained the reason for this, saying, "Yesterday there was a strong shower accompanied by thunder and lightning in the southern part of Gyeonggi-do.
