Over 2.4 billion messages with emojis are sent every day on Messenger.

Good news for users, Facebook announced on its blog, Thursday, July 15, the arrival of sound emojis.

"Now imagine if your emojis could speak, what sound would they make?"

Here's Messenger's latest feature: Soundmojis.

Your conversations just got a lot louder, ”Facebook warns.

And to clarify: "Soundmojis allows you to send short sound clips in a Messenger conversation: applause, crickets, drum rolls or even evil laughs.

"

A regularly updated library

It will also be possible to send cult replicas of films or series such as

Brooklyn Nine-Nine

or

The Chronicle of the Bridgertons

.

To send Soundmojis, you will have to start a chat in Messenger, press the smiley and select the speaker icon.

You can then listen to the selected Soundmojis before sending it.

Facebook says the Soundmojis library will be updated regularly.

These new sound effects will be available from Saturday July 17 on Messenger, on the occasion of World Emoji Day.
