A fire broke out at a sock factory in Yonghyeon-dong, Uijeongbu-si, Gyeonggi-do, around 1pm today.



The fire department extinguished the fire in 2 hours and 40 minutes after issuing the second stage of response, mobilizing personnel and equipment from 5 to 6 nearby fire stations.



Two workers in the factory were evacuated immediately after the fire and there were no injuries.



However, fire officials said that not only the socks factory, but also four other factory buildings and one warehouse were burned.

At about 11:45 am today, on the 2nd Jungbu Expressway in Gwangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, a car driven by Mr. A in his 50s collided with a vehicle in front of him, causing a quadruple collision.



Three people were injured in the accident and taken to hospital, and one car was set on fire.



At 1:30 pm, the engine of an SUV driving along the Damyang Expressway in Gochang caught fire and the couple in the car


evacuated.

A 42-year-old man in Geumgang, Yeongdong-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, and a 64-year-old man in Sancheok, Chungju, fell drowning and died while catching a scallop.



In addition, a report was received about 12:45 in the afternoon that a man in his 30s was not visible while scuba diving off the coast of Namhae-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do, and the Coast Guard launched a search.
