.

Face to attention, biting lip, coral, "pregnant" man, syringe or disco ball… the 2021 vintage promises many new things.

While the Unicode consortium has been trying for several years to create an inclusive version of all emojis, this year it's the handshake that gives pride of place to inclusiveness.

It will be possible to choose the skin color of each of the hands.

A heart with your fingers will also allow you to declare your love.

The most anticipated emoji prize will be awarded on Saturday July 17th

But these new emojis aren't the only ones when it comes to inclusivity.

A non-gendered person with a crown, a "pregnant" man and a non-gendered pregnant person are also part of the novelties of this 2021 cuvée. Finally, like every year, new emoticons, various and varied, are proposed such as a bean, a low battery, a coral, a hand of Fatma or a syringe.

The Unicode consortium may decide to drop some of them by September 14.

Date by which the final version of Unicode 14.0 and Emoji 14.0 should be released.

Their deployment should then be done at the end of the year for Google Pixel smartphones, then in 2022 on other devices.

In the meantime, the most anticipated emoji prize will be awarded on Saturday July 17, on the occasion of World Emoji Day.
