Tesla Vision, the Californian brand's autopilot system, will soon be able to detect and react to new elements that may appear on the road.

Elon Musk has indeed announced that an upcoming software update will take into account the turn signals and hazard lights of other vehicles as well as the flashing lights of police and ambulances, reports

The algorithm that equips the cars of the manufacturer will also be able to capture "hand gestures", added the CEO of the company, who spoke of a new version of the system "breathtaking".

The 2,000 Tesla owners who have already had access to this latest update have found that Tesla Vision is already detecting the taillights of other cars, also reports the American site.

Respond to all situations

The manufacturer's goal is to achieve full autonomy from its automatic driving system.

For this, the device must be able to react efficiently and in complete safety to all the situations with which a motorist is called upon to face.

The new version of Tesla Vision is thus based entirely on the images provided by the cameras fitted to the cars, and no longer on the data transmitted by the sensors.

In addition, Elon Musk said that his teams were currently working on a program capable of detecting sirens and other sound signals emitted by the emergency services.

The Beta v9 version of Tesla Vision should be made available to other customers of the brand "in about a month", at the end of the test phase.
