An 18-year-old salesman was stabbed to death in a Bouygues Telecom store in Seine-et-Marne on Saturday.
His 20-year-old colleague is injured.
The suspect, a 62-year-old man, was arrested in the early afternoon after coming over a "business dispute" and asking for "a refund he did not get".
A man was arrested early Saturday afternoon at the Claye-Souilly shopping center, in Seine-et-Marne, after having stabbed a seller of a Bouygues Telecom store and seriously injured another, the prosecution and police sources reported. One of the victims died and the other was taken to hospital in serious condition, Meaux prosecutor Laureline Peyrefitte told AFP who was due to go to the scene.
According to law enforcement sources, the 62-year-old suspect showed up at the phone shop for a "business dispute", asking for "a refund he did not get".
Dissatisfied, he left and returned shortly after with a knife.
He then stabbed the vendors "at heart level".
The deceased seller was 18 years old and the injured seller was 20 years old.
"There is no notion of terrorism or previous dispute"
The individual was then arrested by a police officer and a prison officer, both off duty, assisted by a client.
All three were in the mall at the time of the incident, which occurred around 1:20 p.m.
The attacker is not known to the intelligence services.
"There is no notion of terrorism or previous dispute," said a police source, adding that the "incident is over".
