<Anchor> With the

highest number of confirmed cases coming out every day, beaches on the east coast are opening for the holiday season. Each beach has its own quarantine measures, but I am worried that the spread of the metropolitan area will spread to the local area.

Vacationers flocked to Sokcho Beach from the first day it opened.

Most of them did not take off their masks while enjoying the cool sea breeze and waves.

[Choi Jeong-eun / Jincheon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do: It is very nice to see the sea because it is open. Wearing a mask as much as possible and avoiding going to outside restaurants or places like this as much as possible is a way to solve it inside our dorm... .] When

Gyeongpo and Mangsang Beaches open next week, all of Gangwon's East Coast beaches will be open.

This year, strengthening quarantine is a top priority.

Some beaches have fences installed and only accept visitors through designated entrances.

After leaving a record of your visit, checking your temperature, and attaching a temperature measurement sticker, you can enter.

At five large beaches, including Gyeongpo and Sokcho, where more than 300,000 people visit, an administrative order to restrict gatherings is issued from 7 p.m. to 6 p.m. the next day.

In particular, at Gyeongpo Beach, where many young vacationers visit, drones that detect fever patients will also be launched.

Although quarantine has been strengthened, there are many residents who are concerned that the spread of the metropolitan area may spread to the local area.

[Kwon Geumja / Villager: No one has (corona) here yet. I'm still

living

comfortably here, but there are some guests from Seoul (I'm worried.)]

Except for Gangneung, where the number of gatherings is limited to 8 or less, all of Gangwon's east coast are in the first stage of social distancing where there is no limit on the number of gatherings.

In order to preemptively respond to the spread of the corona virus during the summer vacation season, Gangwon-do has begun collecting opinions with cities and counties on whether to raise the level of distancing in advance.
