TikTok will test a new feature on the app for US users: TikTok Resumes (“TikTok CV”).

This novelty allows users living in the United States to create a video CV and apply for job offers directly on the application.

Several large American companies are participating in the test: Spotify, Chipotle or even Target.

To distinguish CVs from other content, applicants should use the hashtag #TikTokResumes in the caption of their post.

An alternative to LinkedIn?

“Interested applicants are encouraged to creatively and authentically present their skills and experiences,” TikTok says on its blog.

The test will last from July 7 to July 31.

Depending on the results, the Chinese app may consider offering the feature in a more sustainable and comprehensive manner.

This option could allow TikTok to compete with LinkedIn, which currently dominates the professional social media market.

But the Creative Videos app recently announced that the maximum video length will be increased to 3 minutes.

Users originally only had 15 seconds to speak.

“With longer videos, creators will have the flexibility to create new or expanded types of content,” said Drew Kirchhoff, the company's “product manager”.

One way to take the opposite view of Instagram or YouTube, which are now positioned on short videos.
