There is a controversy over plagiarism over a thesis written by the wife of former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol. Also, suspicions arose that the thesis review committee's signature and seal were also suspicious, but Kookmin University began its own investigation.

Reporter Kim Min-jung took a closer look at what the problem was.

Kim Gun-hee's 2007 master's thesis and 2008 doctoral thesis were analyzed directly through the plagiarism detection system.

First, when I directly analyzed the master's thesis, which was suspected of plagiarism, the plagiarism rate exceeded 30%.

Master's thesis is under suspicion of plagiarism.

More than half of the content of an online article is verbatim, and there are points that are incomplete to be considered a dissertation.

The title of the thesis is translated into English, and the word 'member retention' is pronounced as 'member Yuji', or serious inscriptions in the translation are difficult to guess.

Although the plagiarism rate evaluated by the checker does not determine whether or not plagiarism is plagiarized, Kookmin University has launched its own investigation to review the entire thesis.

First of all, a doctoral thesis is the target.

One thesis reviewer who was contacted by the reporters said that they thoroughly reviewed the thesis and did not check for plagiarism.

[The thesis reviewer at the time: I looked hard at the parts that were relevant to me, and I remember all the details about whether there was plagiarism (I can't), or there are no procedural flaws, as far as I remember.]

Online judges There is also a controversy over signatures and seals.

The handwriting of all signatures is similar, and the seal has a different shape from the seals on other student thesis, but this suspicion is highly likely not true.

An official from Kookmin University said, "In order to receive a seal, the name of the judges is often written in advance, so it does not matter if the handwriting on the signature line is the same."

When SBS checked all the judges about their seals, they all said, "Your seal is correct."

Former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol avoided an immediate answer to the allegation of plagiarism by his wife, saying, "It is a matter for the university to decide autonomously and to make a conclusion."
