current 2nd stage of the social distancing measures in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do have been extended for one more week until the 14th.
As the daily number of confirmed cases exceeds 1,000, the new social distancing measures will be postponed once more and the situation will be closely monitored.
In the past week, there were 636 confirmed cases in the metropolitan area, which is level 3 under the new distance system.
In the third stage, restaurants and cafes in the metropolitan area can only be opened until 10 p.m. as now, but the ban on gatherings for 6 types of entertainment facilities will be lifted.
The quarantine authorities said that if the number of confirmed cases in the metropolitan area grows larger than now, it may skip step 3 and go directly to step 4, the highest level.

step 4 of the new distance, gatherings of more than 3 people are not allowed after 6 pm, and various events are prohibited in principle.
Only relatives are allowed to attend weddings and funerals.
The government recommended that young people in their 20s and 30s, who account for nearly half of the new confirmed cases, undergo a diagnostic test even if they do not have symptoms when using a narrow indoor facility with a large number of people.
From today (the 8th), the punishment will be greatly strengthened, such as the suspension of business for 10 days without warning for facilities that violate quarantine rules.
