While the spread of COVID-19 is strong in the metropolitan area, the number of new confirmed cases today (5th) again reached 700.

The Central Quarantine Countermeasures Headquarters announced that as of 00:00 today, there were 711 new confirmed cases, bringing the total to 167,95.

There were 32 fewer people than yesterday (743 people), but it continued to be around 700 for the third day.

Usually, on weekends and holidays, the number of tests decreases significantly, and the number of confirmed cases also tends to decrease, but this time there was no unusually small decrease.

This is proof that the spread is so strong.

In particular, as of Sunday's confirmed cases (Monday as of the announcement), the number of 711 people themselves was the 'third pandemic' peaked (December 25 last year, 1,240 people) and started to come down on January 4 this year (1,020 people). This is the highest record since 26 weeks.

The route of infection of today's new confirmed cases is 644 local outbreaks and 67 overseas inflows.

Although the number of confirmed cases imported from overseas decreased slightly from yesterday (81), it is the third highest number since the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in Korea on January 20 last year.

The number of new confirmed cases, which has fluctuated between 300 and 600, has surged from 700 to 800 in recent days due to the successive cluster infections in the metropolitan area.

From the 29th of last month to today, the number of new confirmed cases in the past week is 595 → 794 → 761 → 825 → 794 → 743 → 711 per day.

During this period, 700 people are 5 times, 500 people and 800 people are 1 time each.
