Choi Jae-hyeong, who was selected as the next candidate for the opposition, resigned today (28th), and the presidential election of the opposition is expected to be shaken.

A day before the announcement of the presidential candidacy of former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, the leader of the opposition party, on the 29th, former President Choi, who is considered a strong alternative, joined the 'player'.

Director Choi met with reporters on the way to work this morning and said, "I want to take time to think about what role I should play for the future of the Republic of Korea after I put down my post."

An aide said on the phone, "Chairman Choi will ponder for a while whether it is necessary or possible to do politics," but the opposition seems to see his challenge to the presidency as a fact.

This is the so-called 'Choi Jae-hyeong Alternative Theory'.

So far, if you look at the approval ratings in the opinion polls, former President Yoon maintains the overwhelming first place among the opposition players, but the so-called 'Yun Seok-yeol X-Files' controversy can always act as a bad news.

The view of the opposition is that if President Choi, who has an honest and upright image, appears, at any time, he can compensate for Yoon Seok-yeol's risk and increase the possibility of regime change.

An official said, "I heard that President Choi expressed his will to support other candidates fairly actively, even if he does not become a presidential candidate himself."

If Kim Dong-yeon, the former Deputy Prime Minister of Economy, jumps in with the life story of a historical position, the opposition's lineup will be virtually complete.

Song Young-gil, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, asked to 'participate in the ruling party's primary', but he has not given a definite answer, so he is likely to jump into the opposition race.

It is a paradoxical structure in which figures who have held important positions such as the Prosecutor General, the Chief of the Board of Audit and Inspection, and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Economy under the Moon Jae-in regime face off in the presidential election of the opposition.

Apart from the People's Power primary of the first opposition party, there is an observation that public opinion will not be focused on the 'out-of-the-way race', in which three giants fight.

It is for this reason that the power of the people stakes their life and death on the recruitment of outsiders from the party.

Former Rep. Seung-min Yoo, Jeju Governor Won Hee-ryong, and Rep. Ha Tae-kyung formalized the challenge for the presidency early, and Rep. Hong Jun-pyo, who was restored last week, is also speeding up his presidency, but it is unknown how much presence he will exert.

As the first opposition party, it is difficult to guarantee regime change unless it supports the support of outside parties.

Representative Lee Jun-seok, who pressures non-party runners to join the party with the so-called 'bus start on time' theory, is also adjusting the water level while keeping a distance from excessive comments.

President Lee warned that Representative Choi should “restrain” against Rep. Hong Jun-pyo, who criticizes candidates outside the party today, when he went out into the 'wilderness', but he always gave a good evaluation of President Choi and is a person who can coexist with us enough." One also reflects this dilemma.

An official from the People's Power said in a phone call, "Supporters who don't like this runner are moving to that runner." He predicted, "The person who attracts as many supporters as possible in a dizzying zero-sum game will be the representative."
