Mark Zuckerberg has only one idea in mind: to enrich the shopping experience within the Facebook ecosystem.

During an interview on Hotline (Facebook's response to Clubhouse), the boss of the social network indicated that Facebook's e-shops would soon be integrated into WhatsApp, as well as the marketplace.

The two social networks already have their respective catalogs, but WhatsApp will soon host virtual storefronts in which brands and independent sellers can display their products.

Users will also be able to offer their products second-hand on the WhatsApp marketplace.

Instagram will follow

In parallel, Mark Zuckerberg announced the possibility for an Instagram user to find the reference of a product by simply photographing it or by downloading a photo saved on his phone.

The social network will soon have new automatic visual recognition tools.

A feature that should be available on other Facebook platforms.

“When you find something you like [on Instagram], you can tap it and find similar products that people in all of our stores are selling right now,” Zuckerberg said during his Hotline address.

However, no date has been announced for the deployment of these new features.

One thing is certain, Facebook and its ecosystem are increasingly turning into a giant online sales platform.
