When we want to take a screenshot on a web page, we are often confined to the only information that we see on the screen.

It is then often very difficult to capture the entire web page.

Fortunately, there are several solutions to remedy this problem, whether on Mac or iPhone.

The iPhone and the iPad have a solution integrated directly into iOS and iPadOS.

On the other hand, Macs do not offer to take a screenshot of the entire page.

It is then necessary to go through a third-party extension.

On iPhone and iPad

In Safari, start by taking a screenshot.

If you are on an iPhone or iPad equipped with a Home button, you can take a screenshot by pressing this button and the lock button simultaneously and with a short press.

Without the Home button, press the volume up button and the Siri button in the same way.

Once you've taken your screenshot, tap on it at the bottom right of your screen.

At the top of the window, you will have the choice to press either on Screen or on Full page.

If you choose Screen, the capture will take the image exactly as you can see it on your device and save it as a photo.

If, on the other hand, you select Full Page, this will save the entire web page and save it as a PDF file.

The method works exactly the same whether you are on iPhone or iPad.

On Mac

In the case of macOS, there is no one-size-fits-all feature that's easy for the user to access.

On the other hand, it is possible to use a small trick allowing to capture a Web page in its entirety then to save it.

First of all, check that you have activated the development menus for Safari.

To do this, go to Safari preferences by pressing Cmd +, (comma) or by going to Safari> Preferences.

Then go to the Advanced menu, then activate the Show Develop menu option in the menu bar.

Next, navigate to the web page of your choice, then press the Cmd, Alt (or Option) and i keys simultaneously to display to the web inspector window.

Then click on the Element tab.

You will access the code of the chosen site.

Try to locate the first tag beginning with “

You will then be asked where you want to save the file.

At the end of the name, do not hesitate to indicate.

png or.

jpg depending on the type of file you want.

If this trick seems too complicated and you prefer the easy, then we can only advise you to go through a third-party extension intended for Safari or through an application.

There are also very many which are rather efficient but, above all, free.

There is a program, which is not a Safari extension but is quite independent from it, called Paparazzi !.

This is free and allows in particular to capture an entire page in different qualities.

The program works like a conventional browser: you enter your web address there, then press Capture at the top right.

It then outputs a file in PDF, JPG, PNG or TIFF format, which can be saved anywhere you want.
