Major change in anticipation with the next iOS 15 update: requests for refunds for in-app purchases will be simplified since they can be done from the apps themselves.

However, developers will have to integrate the API for this feature into their apps.

Apple has just offered a special development kit to add an in-app “Request a refund” function.

This new option should be integrated into the app settings.

Easier and faster

By pressing this option, users will therefore be able to request a refund for an in-app purchase.

Once the process begins, they will have to select the in-app purchase in question, identify the problem that motivated the refund request - for example, human error - and validate their choice.

They will then receive an email from Apple regarding their request which will be processed within 48 hours.

Even if they go through the app to request an in-app purchase refund, users will still be able to go to Apple's "Report a Problem" page to check the status of their claim.
