<Reporter> The

fire has subsided somewhat due to the overnight fire extinguishing, but black smoke rises from the entire building.

A fire at the Coupang Logistics Center in Icheon, Gyeonggi-do occurred at around 5:30 a.m. yesterday.

The fire started on the 2nd basement floor of a building with 4 stories above ground and 2 stories below ground, but the police confirmed a CCTV video of sparks from an outlet on the shelf of the warehouse shelf.

Due to the nature of logistics centers, there are many boxes, plastics, and parcels that are easy to catch on fire, so it is difficult to evolve until now.

The fire department said it cannot rule out the possibility that the building will collapse as the steel structure melts.

Because of this, the rescue operation for the missing fire chief who was put into the building yesterday has also been stopped.

Fire cop Kim from the Gwangju Fire Department in Gyeonggi-do was unable to get out of the fire scene alone while evacuating with four junior firefighters as the fire suddenly re-spread yesterday afternoon.

The fire department is planning to resume the search for Kim after conducting a safety inspection of the building to examine the risk of collapse.

After the fire is extinguished, the police and fire department will investigate the cause of the fire and whether the sprinklers are operating normally through on-site forensics.
