Today (17th), a firefighter was isolated from the fire at the Coupang Deokpyeong Logistics Center in Majang-myeon, Icheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, and rescue work is underway.

According to the fire department, as of 1:50 pm today, firefighter A belonging to the 119 Rescue Team of the Gwangju Fire Station was isolated on the second basement floor of the distribution center.

Fire cop A entered the second basement floor, where the fire was believed to have started, with four fellow firefighters, but is unable to get out of the building.

Three of the four people who entered together were evacuated, and one escaped exhausted and transported to the hospital.

Earlier, after receiving a fire report at around 5:35 am, the authorities issued a 'second-stage response' alarm that mobilized manpower and equipment from 5 to 6 fire stations adjacent to the competent fire station within 20 minutes. About 150 people were mobilized to extinguish the fire.

The fire gradually subsided around 8:20 a.m., about 2 hours and 40 minutes after the outbreak, and the fire department sequentially lifted the warning order issued earlier while cleaning up the remaining fires.

However, around 11:50 a.m., fires began to rise again from within.

Firefighters who were working to extinguish the fire inside the building also received an emergency evacuation order and evacuated to the outdoors.

The authorities reissued the second stage of the response around 12:14 pm and are working on the firefighting process.
