Madrid is the cane.

Beer (with permission of the wine) is one of the favorite drinks of the Madrilenians.

You can see that there are more and more labels made in the Community, craft beers (or

craft beer

if you prefer the Anglo-Saxon term) whose aromas and flavors are far from the most commercial brands.

Not all of them have their own factory.

No way.

The vast majority work as nomads (they use the facilities of other ensigns).

But there are some with sufficient capacity and production to have their own microbrewery: their own place to brew their beer.

In addition, these addresses usually have taprooms (areas enabled to taste beers, almost always with a short gastronomic offer) and guided tours of the factory.

Here are some addresses to know.

The virgin

With just 10 years of age, Cervezas La Virgen may be the flagship of

Madrid's

beer craft

. Its factory in Las Rozas is the nerve center from which all the business moves (friendly bars,

own

taprooms

, the

beer garden

of Alpedrete ...). Here, in addition to preparing the different references of the brand (with natural ingredients, without filtering or pasteurizing, respecting the fermentation and resting times ... and with a lot of love, as its slogan says), you will find its

original

taproom

, where to enjoy of the brand's beers

(Madrid Lager, Jamonera, IPA, 360 ...)

In the company of several rogue-inspired dishes, such as hot dogs with German sausages and different dressings (the

Tiger

has bacon sauce, smoked onion, cheddar and more bacon), chicken wings or potatoes with sauces.

Visits to the factory to see the production process, tanks, etc., must be booked in advance (price: 12 euros).

Address:

Turín, 13 (Las Rozas).

Puro Tropikal is the Iberian Peninsula session.

Peninsula

Located in Alcobendas, Cervecera Península may be Madrid's most promising firm. It was created in 2017 by Juan Ramón y Román, father and son, passionate about the beers of the American west coast and the essence of the world beer movement. Thus, they embarked on this project in which they try to incorporate into each beer all the experiences acquired in the years they spent in Colorado. The result is surprising: their beers are made following very original recipes and each release has a striking image. In its catalog, the

Hazy Vibes

(a dipa with tasty hops and gold, with notes of pineapple, coconut and citrus), the

Hop On

(a classic and fabulous American pale ale, with cascade and crystal) or the

Puro Tropikal

(a fruity ipa session made with bravo, citra, summit and mosaic).

The

factory

taproom

is the ideal place to try them all.

It is not necessary to reserve, except for groups of more than four people, but the capacity is limited to the capacity of the tables and it is open from Wednesday to Sunday.

You can visit the factory, but you have to book the tour in advance (12 euros).

Address:

Granja, 5-Nave 1 (Alcobendas).

CCVK is a beer that is made in the Vallecas neighborhood.

CCVK (Khas Valley Beer Company)

At the heart of Puente de Vallecas, near Park 7 tits, Beers Company of the KAHS Valley is a small family factory, with Daniel Julien Rodriguez as head brewmaster and leading the

roost

. His project, in addition to defending a quality craft beer made exclusively in the area, also aims to convey the peculiar character of the neighborhood. In the 300 square meters of its headquarters, in addition to the workshop, the fermenters or the filling line for bottles and cans, there is a

taproom

with 10 taps: in the first six there are always the

beers

that they make throughout the year (La

Villana

, an American wheat; the

VII Tits

, an American pale ale; the

28038

, an intense Indian pale ale ...), in the next four, the seasonal beers or the nomads that are made there.

To accompany, cheeses, torreznos, gildas, chicken wings ...

Address:

Enrique Velasco, 21.

Wonders Factory

In the heart of Malasaña, Fábrica Maravillas opened its doors in 2012 becoming the only

brewpub

(bar that makes its own beer) in the center of Madrid.

It has a bar and several high tables;

the factory is located at the back of the counter, separated from it by a glass.

The beer that is consumed on the premises is produced there every day.

The different styles alternate in their cañeros:

Malasaña Pale Ale

, their known IPA which they baptized as

FL (ipa)

,

La Cabrona

(a 14-degree Belgian cross) ... To accompany, portions of cold meats and sausages (ham, salchichón), preserves (mussels, cockles) or homemade omelette.

Address:

Valverde, 29.

Villa de Madrid beers

This microbrewery located in Rivas-Vaciamadrid is responsible for the Chula label.

The

Premium Pilsner

is its most representative reference, with six malts and six hops from different countries, its fermentation time exceeds five weeks.

They also make red beer, ipa, pale ale, wheat ... and without alcohol!

(It was the first Spanish craft that dared to make a beer of these characteristics).

In the factory there is a small space called

Taste Room

.

It is open on weekends (and some days later, you have to be attentive to social networks) and it is the ideal place to try its

birrero

catalog

and

enjoy.

Address:

Joaquín Sorolla, 81 (Rivas-Vaciamadrid).

La Majariega is made in Majadahonda.

Majariega

Born in Majadahonda (hence the name, the name of the Madrid town), this brand was created in 2016 by two brothers.

His idea was to make a

beer

for his own consumption, but the little hobby turned into something more serious ... Everything here is artisans, from the beer (obviously) to the logo or the design of the labels.

Its specialty is lager beers: its main reference is a

bohemian pilsner

with 4.6 degrees of alcohol and made with saaz hops.

This and other brand labels can be tried on

at the factory

taproom

, open Thursday through Sunday.

Address:

Osford, 6-A (Europolis, Las Rozas).

Patanel's Brewpub in Carabanchel.

Patanel

Patanel is Carabanchel's beer and it is made by four friends, four neighbors from the neighborhood (David Ortega, Pablo Bordas and the Álvaro and Daniel Muñoz brothers) who realized that the area did not have a

native

beer

and that the most exotic ones that could enjoy in its bars were all industrial. So they decided to go ahead and create their own brand. First, as nomads (that is, using the facilities of other microbreweries); finally, in his own factory. At this address, in addition to trying their "pata negra" beers

(golden ale, IPAñel, red ale, Blessed wheat bread ...)

There is a small menu of dishes with proposals such as barbecue wings with honey, ribs with chipotle sauce, pulled pork burger or nachos with pico de gallo and guacamole.

Of course, due to the current circumstances it is essential to reserve and there are shifts in the occupation of the tables.

Address:

Avda. Pedro Díez, 21.

Origen, Complutum, Special Ale and Cervantes 400, the four beers that Enigma offers all year round.

Enigma

Those responsible for Enigma decided to open this microbrewery in 2013, discovering the delicate aromas and flavors of

craft beer

on different trips abroad

. First it was a hobby (they made them for their own enjoyment) and after several years residing in the US (in contact with the country's enormous craft beer culture) they decided to open their own factory. Enigma produces four fixed labels

(Special Ale, Complutum, Origen and Cervantes 400)

and another four of special edition

(Abbey, Nuklear IPA, Mediterranean and Salty Chocolate)

.

Guided tours, including tasting, take place on Saturdays at 12 noon and 7 pm.

(with prior reservation).

In addition, they also make mead (Valkyrie) and, taking advantage of the experience of their brewmaster in the world of spirits, four gins and a vodka.

Address:

Pierre Curie, 19 (Alcalá de Henares).

The Gabarrera taproom.

Barge

Located in Becerril de la Sierra (although it was officially born in the neighboring town of Matalpino), the Cervezas Gabarrera project was born in 2014 by Mónica Somacarrera and Javier Terrón. It is a social initiative cooperative that is based on creating employment for people at risk of exclusion, caring for the environment or energizing the nearest rural areas. In homage to the area, all their beers bear names of mountains of the Madrid Sierra:

Siete Picos

(bitter),

Samburiel

(American brown ale),

La Maliciosa

(American IPA) and two seasonal varieties (in winter,

La Barranca

- dunkelweizen-; in summer,

La Peñalara

, -light, smooth and aromatic-). Your

taproom

It is equipped for friends, families, couples or curious people who want to come and try any of them, in a quiet environment.

On Wednesdays they usually carry out cultural activities such as concerts.

Address:

Avda. De José Antonio, 87 A (Becerril de la Sierra).
