It has been confirmed that a police officer in his 50s belonging to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency is being investigated for assaulting a police officer who arrived drunk.

According to SBS coverage, the Incheon Western Police Station has booked and investigated Inspector A, a man in his 50s, on charges of obstructing the execution of official duties.

Inspector A is charged with assaulting Inspector B, in his 20s, who was dispatched to the basement parking lot of an apartment building in Cheongna-dong, Seo-gu, Incheon around 4 a.m. on the 12th after receiving a 112 report.

Inspector B, who was dispatched after receiving a report saying, "There is a person sleeping in the parking lot and does not wake up," tried to wake Inspector A and send him home.

At this time, Inspector A was said to have swung his fist toward Inspector B's face, swearing, such as "I'm from the Special Forces, do you want to die?"

Inspector B arrested Inspector A immediately after the assault as a current offender on charges of obstructing the execution of official duties.

Later, in the process of bringing him to the district and checking his identity, he found that Inspector B was a police officer.

The apartment security guard who watched the assault scene met with SBS today (15th) and said, "I woke up a man sleeping with his face pressed to the wheel of a parked car, but communication was not possible, so he reported it to the police."

He also explained the situation at the time, "When the policeman came and comforted me, 'Shouldn't you go home?' I suddenly swung my fist."

Inspector A, who worked at the Seoul Police Agency's 112 General Security Situation Room, was transferred to a frontline police station in Seoul yesterday (15th).

Separately from the investigation, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency started an investigation into Inspector A.
