Dagblad van het Noorden

(

DVHN

) and the

Leeuwarder Courant

(

LC

) will use a robot next season to report on amateur football

matches

.

In the Northern Netherlands, 60,000 football matches are played in an average season, the newspapers calculated.

The text robot automatically converts the results, ranks and standings of all these matches into an article.

Coaches can also register and send an evaluation directly after the game via their mobile phone.

Ard Boer is product manager for Sport at NDC mediagroep, which includes

Dagblad van het Noorden

and the

Leeuwarder Courant

.

He is enthusiastic about this form of robotic journalism.

"Sport is an important pillar in our news provision. We are passionately looking forward to a restart of amateur football where corona can no longer throw a spanner in the works. We are happy to support this by showing that we will give all amateur competitions the stage they deserve. says Boer.
