A mother who habitually abused her four-month-old son and left him with fractures all over his body has been sentenced to a severe sentence.

The Incheon District Court announced today (14th) that a 25-year-old woman accused of child abuse and murder was sentenced to 17 years in prison.

In addition, the court ordered Mr. A to complete a 40-hour child abuse treatment program and restricted him from working in child-related organizations for 5 years.

Husband B, accused of habitual child abuse and neglect, was sentenced to three years in prison and ordered to complete a 40-hour child abuse treatment program.

Mr. B is also restricted from employment in child-related institutions for 5 years.

A was indicted on charges of killing a child by hitting his 4-month-old son, C, dozens of times with his fist from September to October 29 last year at his home in Michuhol-gu, Incheon.

As a result of the police investigation, it was revealed that Mr. A abused Group C on the grounds that 'Group C did not drink formula or cried while crying.'

Mr. B left the child unattended for over a week without taking the child to the hospital even though he knew of the assault, and then returned home after receiving a doctor's recommendation.

In addition, it was confirmed that another child of couple A also died in October 2019, a year before group C's death, from head injuries and complications.

The court said, "The continuous abuse that Mr. A inflicted on Group C was quite severe, resulting in the death of the child. I didn't," he explained, explaining the reason for the sentencing.
