"Mercedes" unveils its first electric trucks at the end of June

The "Daimler" group, the owner of the German company "Mercedes-Benz", announced today that "Mercedes" intends to unveil its first production of electric trucks "E-Electro" on June 30.

Mercedes aims to start production of this truck at the Fürth plant on the Rhine River this year.

The group explained that customers have successfully tested prototypes of the truck, which weighs 18 and 25 tons, as part of an ongoing process since 2018, which included the supply of refrigerated foodstuffs to supermarkets.

Daimler stressed that the electric truck will not be less than any diesel-powered truck in terms of availability and performance.

Daimler Truck AG plans to offer a series of vehicles powered by hydrogen fuel cell engines.
