A small building used by farmers as a resting place or storage is called a farmhouse.

Because it is not a house, it does not require a permit and does not pay taxes, but illegal farmhouses that are used to decorate like villas are increasing.

Small buildings are lined up along the sloping field.

It has a roof, windows and even a wooden deck in front of the door.

It looks like a country house, but most of them are reported as farmhouses.

A farmhouse should not be used for storing agricultural equipment or materials, or to take a break from field work, and should not exceed 20 square meters in area or be used for residential purposes.

However, these farmhouses exceeded the standard area by adding rain shielding, or they spread rubble on the farmland, planted lawns, and planted landscaping trees and flowers to make them look like gardens.

Cooking facilities are placed in a greenhouse next to the farmhouse and used as a barbecue area.

All of them are illegal farmhouses, but it is common to visit them only on weekends and use them as villas.

[Villerman: (What do you do on the weekend?) Come and take a break. Grilled meat and barbecued. (Are you sleeping?) Yes.] A

farmhouse is easy to build with little money, and you only need to report it without a license or permission process.

It also avoids real estate regulations or taxes as it is not included in the number of houses.

In Wonju, Gangwon Province, about 1,400 farms, about half of the reported farms, were illegally caught.

[Regional government officials: (Unlike farmhouses) If you build a house for farmland conversion, you also have to pay farmland maintenance fees, and you also have to pay acquisition and registration taxes.]

There are also some places that even operate lodging businesses with farmhouses, but even if most illegal farmhouses are caught, they will be corrected. It is pointed out that a systematic management plan should be prepared as it is only a command.
