Nintendo has

revealed

a sequel to the Switch game

Mario + Rabbids

on its website

The game, which mixes characters from Nintendo's

Super Mario

series with

Ubisoft

's

Rabbids

, will be released next year.

The game is called

Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope in full

and is the successor to the first part from 2017, which was called

Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle

.

It is likely that the game will be officially announced on Saturday evening during a press conference by game publisher Ubisoft.

In the coming days, many presentations from game publishers will take place, as part of the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3).

This is one of the largest game events in the world, where the newest games for the coming period are shown every year.

Mario + Rabbids

was one of the first games for the Nintendo Switch.

The series uses a so-called turn-based system, where players and computer-controlled opponents take turns attacking each other.

Many details about the second part are not yet known.

According to the description, the main characters go on a journey through space to defeat enemies and save their friends.

Some screenshots have been posted on the Nintendo site.

A specific release date has not yet been announced.

Nintendo only mentions 2022.

The Ubisoft press conference is scheduled for Saturday 9 p.m.

Tuesday at 6 p.m. Nintendo's turn.
