A unit in the army reported that she was sexually harassed by a classmate for more than 4 months, but there was a claim that follow-up measures were insufficient. When I reported it, the supervisor said that he was worried about promotion.

Reporter Shin Jeong-eun covered it.

Since March of last year, Corporal A was said to have been sexually harassed and harassed for over 4 months by a fellow soldier.

[Soldier A: Sitting next to me while eating and touching my thighs, or standing behind me and touching my butt during the evening roll call.]

Even if I expressed my dislike several times, it was no use.

[Soldier A: I hugged him tighter and said, 'Why are you pretending to hate it on the outside while you like it on the inside? .]

I reported it to the company commander, but he says that there was no proper investigation into the damage, let alone separate from the perpetrator.

[Soldier A: Measures to separate the perpetrators are nonsense, and after that, the company commander or battalion commander was not called to talk about the incident… .]

A month later, I was molested again.

During the reporting period for irrationality within the unit, I reported the damage and poor measures, and the administrative supply officer, who was my superior, said this.

[Soldier A: He sighed and said, 'If you report it, the promotion

to the sergeant

will also cross the water.']

As a result of the investigation, additional victims were also confirmed, but the quarantine measures for the perpetrators were delayed by three more days.

It was the reason that administrative processing was difficult due to the weekend.

[Soldier A: 'How much mentally shocked you would be if you found out that you were reported? What if the assailant commits suicide? (I said.)' I was worried now. What if he really dies because of me?]

Finally, more than a month after the first report, the perpetrators were transferred to another battalion.

The unit explained that at the time of the initial report, it was difficult to determine that it was a sexual assault issue, so no immediate action was taken.

[The relevant army unit: 'Continuously gossip about me. I have a little too much skinship.' (I reported it.) He didn't talk about sex at all, so there was no need to separate.] He

also claimed that as a result of the military inspection, most of Corporal A's allegations were found to be 'not true'.

At the National Defense Commission plenary meeting on the 9th, Defense Minister Seo Wook announced that he would re-investigate the matter if necessary.
