The government has decided to extend the current 'social distancing' and the ban on private gatherings of more than five people for three more weeks until the beginning of next month in order to stably manage the Corona 19 epidemic.

Deok-cheol Kwon, the 1st deputy head of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (Minister of Health and Welfare), said at a major headquarters meeting today (11th), "From June 14 to July 4, we will maintain the 2nd stage measures in the metropolitan area and 1.5 stages in the non-metropolitan area as it is for the next three weeks. We also maintain the ban on private gatherings of more than 5 people.”

As a result, the current measures implemented on February 15 have been extended seven times, continuing for four months.

However, Deputy Director Kwon explained, "In the case of cultural activities with a low risk of (infection), such as watching sports events or performances, we plan to expand the number of people who can attend in stages while observing the basic quarantine rules."
