In May 2019, while serving as the chief of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, he was accused of misuse of his authority by interfering with the investigation and prosecution of allegations that he had poorly directed the investigation into the Optimus fund fraud case and that the prosecutor gave false testimony to the inmate at the trial of former Prime Minister Han Myung-sook during his tenure as prosecutor general. The Ministry of Airborne Affairs notified the accuser on the 4th that it had booked former President Yoon for these allegations.
