video of former Vice Justice Minister Lee Yong-gu's assault on a taxi driver was released, the police are investigating how the incident that was received at the Seocho Police Station at the time was closed.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's fact-finding team also secured CCTV inside the police station where an investigator was photographed pondering for more than 30 seconds after watching the video of the assault.



The police's explanation that "the case was closed because we could not obtain a video of the assault" was not true.



In response, the fact-finding team was found to have secured a statement from the investigator to the effect that 'they denied the existence of the video for fear that the taxi driver would be harmed'.



He said that the taxi driver had already received 10 million won from the former vice minister, but he took into account that if the former vice minister is arrested, there may be a situation where he will have to return the money.



The fact-finding team is planning to send an opinion on indictment against Sergeant B, the team leader, and the head of the criminal division who are in charge of the investigation for negligence of special duties, and send them to the prosecution.



However, Superintendent C, who was then the head of the Seocho Police Station, was excluded from the prosecution.



The fact-finding team secured testimonials and other evidence that Superintendent C, who received a report that 'Lee is a person mentioned as a candidate for the Minister of Airborne Affairs', ordered the investigation team "to investigate thoroughly."



The police are expected to announce the results of the investigation not only about the end of the internal investigation, but also about former Vice Minister Yong-gu Lee's suspicion of destroying evidence by teaching around the next week.
