Regarding social distancing, the Seoul Metropolitan Government introduced a final plan for the so-called'Seoul-style distance distancing' to extend the business hours of some industries along with the introduction of a self-test kit.

Depending on the result of the discussion, the restrictions on opening hours of pubs, gyms, and karaoke bars may be eased earlier than expected.

Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon has been opposed to the guidelines for keeping the door closed at 10 p.m. right after taking office.

[Se-hun Oh/ Mayor of Seoul (Last month 9): The central government measures such as the existing business closing hours after 9 or 10 o'clock, which do not take into account the characteristics of each industry, must be clearly reconsidered.]

Accordingly, the city of Seoul went through a process of collecting opinions by industry and then on the streets. The final draft of the two periods was prepared and submitted to the government earlier this month.

The key is to introduce customized business hours for each industry.

According to the Seoul final plan obtained by SBS, restaurants and cafes are expected to be extended from 10 p.m. as before, but general pubs will be extended from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., gymnasium 11 p.m., and karaoke rooms until midnight.

The entertainment bar industry, which is currently banned from gatherings, also requested business until midnight, but it was excluded from discussion due to the constant number of illegal business cases.

Concerns over extended business hours will be supplemented with self-test kits.

Currently, we are expanding the introduction of call centers, distribution centers, and boarding school pilot projects to hypermarkets, catering, karaoke, and transportation businesses.

However, for religious facilities, the introduction of self-test kits was once eliminated, contrary to the Christian world, which made cost and test time an issue.

Prior to this, the government announced that it will ease the distance from July if the average number of confirmed cases per day remains below 1,000.

However, Seoul is in a position that it is urgent to diversify business hours given the reality of self-employed people who are difficult to withstand a day.

[Choi Jeong-hee / Karaoke owner: I am standing at the end of a cliff. There are also many houses that are all closed. It is difficult to withstand the current situation.] It

has been a month since the Seoul city's final draft was accepted, but the government was cautious, saying that negotiations were still in progress.
