A woman in her 50s, who accidentally heard and recorded the sound of sexual intercourse in a phone call with an acquaintance who had been wrongly caught, and asked for 1 billion won to inform her family, was sentenced to probation from imprisonment.

Judge Nam Seung-min, who was solely responsible for the 6th criminal justice of the Incheon District Court, sentenced A (52·female), who was accused of attempting blackmail, to 10 months in prison and 2 years probation.

On July 9 of last year, Mr. A recorded the voice of sexual intercourse he accidentally heard during a phone call with his male acquaintance Mr. B.

At the time, while having sex with a woman, Mr. B accidentally pressed the button of Mr. A's phone number, and the call was connected.

A month later, Mr. A met Mr. B and threatened to "please give me 1 billion won in 10 days. Otherwise, I will hand over the audio file to my family and son-in-law."

About 10 days later, Mr. B, who met again, gave out an envelope worth 10 million won and asked, "Please delete the recording file," but Mr. A refused.

After that, Mr. B continued to threaten him with text messages.

The judge ruled that "the contents of the accused's threats to the victims and the details of the process are bad."

However, he was sentenced to six months in prison and two years of probation, saying, "The defendant showed reflection while acknowledging all the crimes and taking into account the amicable agreement with the victim."
