There was a case where a black bear appeared around a farmhouse in Ulsan, and the police and fire fighting were dispatched in an emergency. It was captured in 5 hours without much fuss, but it appears to be a bear that was raised illegally nearby.

A female half-moon black bear weighing about 70kg appeared in a farmhouse in Ulju-gun.

They walk around the garden and climb trees.

It looks natural without any awkwardness even when people approach it.

This is the first time that a bear has appeared in the hills near Ulsan.

The first thing that discovered the half-moon black bear was the owner who came to plant crops in the garden.

[Kim Ilya/First discoverer: I went back and forth between the trees here twice. It's only a few seconds to go up and down. It goes up and comes down, and after a while, it goes up again... .]

Police and firefighters gave fruit to lure bears from escaping, and they were captured by the National Park Research Institute five hours after they were discovered.

[Jang Jeong-jae / Director of the National Park Research Institute Southern Conservation Center: It looks like 3 years old, or 4 years old. The half-moon black bear is right, and in terms of subspecies, it is not a native bear of Korea... .] The

captured bear is one of four illegally bred on a nearby farm and appears to have escaped overnight.

While the authorities are entering DNA testing, they are considering how to dispose of them.
