The alleged perpetrator was arrested. 

A 17-year-old young man was killed by stabbing Tuesday in Champigny-sur-Marne (Val-de-Marne) in "circumstances which remain to be established", AFP learned from police sources, information confirmed by the Créteil parquet.

The alleged perpetrator was arrested shortly after in Seine-et-Marne, said one of the police sources. 

At this stage, investigators do not yet know if it is "a brawl between gangs of young people" or a settling of scores between two people, added another police source.

The victim has "a wound close to the heart," said this source.

The events took place in the Clos des Perroquets residence.

Around 6:40 p.m., "a witness saw a group of young people fleeing and a person remaining on the ground," detailed one of the sources.

The victim was "fatally injured by stabbing, in circumstances which remain to be established," she added.
