• Google Photos will stop saving unlimited photos for free in June 2021

The

data storage

is becoming a global problem.

What is considered stored in the cloud, occupies a physical space within a server somewhere in the world.

Companies like Google, have been offering free and unlimited storage of your photos in exchange for reducing the quality of them, until now.

As of June 1 of

this year, the limit will be in the free 15 GB offered by Google One, unless you own a Google Pixel, since the company will continue to maintain the free storage service for users of these mobile phones.

If you do not want to pay the subscription that Google offers to continue using its storage services, you have alternatives.

1. Amazon Photos

It is paid, but if you are an

Amazon Prime

subscriber

(which includes series, free shipping and advantages on the Twitch platform), you have it included.

For approximately 37 euros a year, you can store, with their original quality, all your photos, even in RAW format, and up to 5 GB of videos.

From the mobile application, in addition to viewing your files, you can configure backup copies of the videos and photos from your mobile phone, as was done with Google Photos.

It also has its own desktop application for the computer and among many other functions, it allows you to create a family archive of up to five people, who in turn will also have unlimited photo storage.

2. OneDrive

This Microsoft service comprises various services and applications similar to those of Google.

The downside is that the service

only offers up to 5 GB

of free storage, presenting rates of 100 GB for two euros per month.

If you have the Office 365 suite, this service expands your storage up to 1 TB.

3. iCloud

Known by iPhone users, this Apple service offers

5GB of free storage

, expandable up to 50GB with a monthly fee.

It includes services such as full-resolution backup, access from all your devices, and the option to share storage with up to six members.

4. Terabox

Formerly known as Dubox, it also allows you to back up your photos and

offers free 1 TB storage in the cloud

, that is, 1024 GB.

This little-known cloud also has a mobile application, which makes it the free option with the largest storage available.

5. Dropbox

This veteran cloud

offers up to 2 GB for free

, expandable up to 2 TB for 119.9 euros per year.

It also includes a backup service and an Android application.

In addition, it allows you to upload all types of files with their original quality.

6. Mega

After Megaupload, Mega was Kim Dotcom's next project, which includes

up to 50 GB of free storage

, expandable up to 400 GB for 4.99 euros per month.

To avoid such high-profile cases as the closure of Megaupload due to copyright infringement, each Mega file that is shared has a personal password, making the user responsible for its content.

It also offers a backup service for mobile phone files thanks to its app.

7. Yandex Disk

This service would be the Russian Google Photos, with similar functions and interface.

The

free storage for registering is 10 GB

, expandable to 100 GB through the box and, like most of the aforementioned services, it includes backups from the mobile phone.

This service has as an extra a song player and integration with other company services such as Yandex Mail.
