police arrested the child's father, Mr. B, in his thirties, for serious injury under the Special Child Abuse Act.

Mr. B is said to have admitted to the allegations of abuse in the police investigation, saying, "I hit him a few times with his hand because he was whispering yesterday, and he did not wake up even though he fell asleep afterwards."

However, the medical staff expressed the opinion that it is difficult to see it as a one-time abuse based on her developmental status or wounds on her whole body.

[Jeong Tae-seok/Professor of Gachon University: There were multiple bruises on the buttocks, all thighs, back, or on the face, neck, and ears. There were old bruises with different times. The child's nutritional status also seemed a bit poor.]

Ms. A is receiving treatment at the trauma intensive care unit after undergoing brain surgery.

It was confirmed that Mr. B and Mrs. B adopted Ms. A in August of last year.

After investigating the alleged child abuse against Mr. B and Mr. B's wife who were arrested, the police applied for an arrest warrant for Mr. B this morning.
