The rumor had been circulating for a while now, it is now official: Donald Trump has launched his own social platform.

The real estate mogul - and incidentally former President of the United States - has just announced the launch of his own social network in reaction to his exclusion from Twitter, Facebook and company.

Called "From the Desk of Donald J. Trump" ("From the office of Donald J. Trump", in French), the millionaire's social network is actually more of a blog than a social platform since is the only one who can publish on it.

A constraint that completely calls into question the very concept of a social network.

The “From the Desk of Donald J. Trump” platform is aimed at supporters of Donald Trump and will mainly serve to share communications from the former US president.

The “social network” is described as “a place to speak freely and safely”.

The new communication tool of the future candidate for the American presidency of 2024 is presented in more detail in a video where we can read the following: "in a time of silence and lies, a beacon of freedom appears".

The former president relies on his supporters to relay his publications

With this blog, Donald Trump and his teams are obviously trying to tackle popular social networks, but we will note all the same that the various publications of the former President of the United States can be shared on Twitter and Facebook, as well as like ... This will actually be the only way for supporters - or detractors - of Donald Trump to react to these comments.

According to one of his advisers, this blog is only the first step in Donald Trump's plan to launch a real social network in the literal sense.

A project for which several companies have committed to help Donald Trump achieve it.

It remains to be seen if the latter will ever succeed.
