A man in his 30s who repeatedly sent threatening text messages to his separated girlfriend was sentenced to prison.



Judge Ji Sang-mok, who was in charge of criminal 7 of the Seoul Western District Law, said that he sentenced A, a man in his thirties, to six months in prison, who was charged with violating the Act on the promotion of intimidation, promotion of information and communication networks, and information protection.



After dating the victim for about three months, Mr. A sent a message to the victim by voice or text 189 times until the end of July of the same year after breaking up in June of last year.



It was content that caused fear and anxiety in the victims such as'You are now dead','I will go to your house tomorrow', and'Wait until morning in front of your house'.



The prosecution applied threats to 27 of the messages sent by Mr. A.



The judge said, "The victim has a great mental shock and is petitioning for severe punishment," and said, "We considered the fact that Mr. A has a lot of criminal history."
