<Anchor> After the

resignation of former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, the outlines of candidates who would sit in the office of the president who had been empty for nearly two months were revealed. The Prosecutor General's Candidate Recommendation Committee selected four members today (29th) and notified the Minister of Justice. Seoul Central District District Prosecutor's Office, Lee Seong-yoon, who was highly regarded as the next president-elect, was unable to make a name on the list of four candidates.

This is the first news today, reporter Son Hyung-an.

The 9 members of the Prosecutor General's Candidate Recommendation Committee started the candidate selection meeting at 10 am.

[Park Sang-hee/Chairman of the Prosecutor General's Candidate Recommendation Committee: I will do so to recommend the appropriate person according to the rules and procedures.]

Contrary to the expectation that there would be a lot of controversy, the nomination committee announced four candidates within four hours of the meeting.

Former Vice Minister of Justice Kim Oh-soo, Goo Bon-seon, current Gwangju High Prosecutor, Bae Seong-beom, current Judicial Research and Training Institute, and Cho Nam-gwan, acting prosecutor general, were selected as candidates.

Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office Lee Seong-yoon, who was the subject of the judging, could not be listed.

Among the four candidates, Nam-gwan Jo, who has earned the trust of the prosecution, stands out among the four candidates, but it is expected that how much the current government trusts will be a variable.

In that sense, former Vice Minister Kim O-soo, who served as the current vice minister of the Ministry of Justice, is advantageous, but it is evaluated as a weakness that he was repeatedly rejected as an audit committee requiring neutrality due to his strong pro-government tendencies.

The Candidate Recommendation Committee sent a list of four members to Attorney General Park Bum-gye, and Minister Park selects one of them and proposes an appointment to the President.

[Park Beom-gye/Minister of Justice: (Recommendation Committee) I will respect the results and consider the procedure according to the procedure I have been in charge of as an

applicant

from now on.] The

final candidate who has been nominated for the President is appointed as the Prosecutor General after a hearing hearing in the National Assembly. Is expected to begin its official term only after the end of May.
