An incumbent prosecutor who assisted Justice Minister Park Bum-gye in the cryptocurrency craze also joined.

According to the Ministry of Justice, Prosecutor A, who has been working in the Office of the Policy Assistant to the Minister of Justice since January, recently resigned.

It is reported that Prosecutor A resigned to become a lawyer at a large domestic cryptocurrency exchange.

Prosecutor A's turnover is attracting attention from inside and outside the legal world, as the government has been alerting to the overheating of the cryptocurrency market and mentioning regulations.

Some point out that there is a conflict of interest for a prosecutor who worked at the Ministry of Justice to work at a cryptocurrency exchange.

An official from the Ministry of Justice said, "I know that Prosecutor A has never worked on cryptocurrency."

On the 19th, the government decided to conduct a special crackdown on money laundering, fraud, and illegal activities using virtual currency at a meeting of the vice ministers of relevant ministries.

In January 2018, when the price of bitcoin soared, the then Minister of Justice Park Sang-sang said, "We are preparing a bill to ban cryptocurrency transactions through exchanges."
